A useful event run at an end-to-end gallop, the favourite ridden a shade too aggressively and collared late on by an Irish raider in the form of her life, the frame completed by 2 more chasing debutants.

SHECOULDBEANYTHING (IRE) completed a 4-timer on just her second start on these shores (other one had been at the Cheltenham Festival) with a performance up there with the pick of her hurdling efforts, suited by how the race unfolded, ittedly; soon behind, reminders after third, slow fifth, still plenty to do between 4 out and 3 out, headway under pressure out wide entering straight, led soon after last, asserted final 50 yds.

YOU WEAR IT WELL strong in the betting, was the pick on hurdles form (dual Grade 2 winner) and went like the best horse at the weights after 8 months off, doing just a bit too much too soon and picked off late by a thriving sort that came from the rear; led, jumped well in main, went with zest, ed after fifth, went on again 2 out, headed soon after last, held final 50 yds; she is well up to winning races over fences, not just ones confined to mares.

PARTY VIBES (IRE) hadn't reached anything like the same heights as the first 2 over hurdles but is extremely likeable, as well as being built to make a better chaser, and shaped well after 7 months off, paying late on for trying to match strides with the favourite; pressed leader, jumped fine, upsides after fifth, second when ridden 2 out, no extra approaching last; yard continues in fine form and she's open to further progress.

CASA NO MENTO making chasing bow in a good race, ran as if in need of outing for fitness and experience; waited with, jumped right, steady headway out wide after seventh, chased leaders 3 out, pushed along next, weakened flat; very much went the right way over hurdles and she could reach a useful level in this sphere, too.

WEST BALBOA (IRE) was ridden with an eye on the future, the drop in trip firmly against her; raced off the pace, shaken up 3 out, never involved but finished with running left under considerate handling; possesses the frame to be at least as good over fences as hurdles and remains capable of better.

SPACE TOURIST (IRE) jumped straighter than usual returned to a left-handed track and fitted with cheekpieces but still ran badly; close up, awkward third, lost place when awkward seventh, struggling when stumbled 4 out, pulled up next.
