came here in fine form and proved better than ever as he took the step up in grade/drop back in trip in his stride, completing a course hat-trick in his usual front-running style; made all, went with zest, shaken up approaching straight, tackled soon after, dug deep under pressure; thoroughly likeable and straightforward so will continue to give a good , though will do well to confirm this form with a few in behind on a more conventional track when there's less in his favour.

wasn't seen to best effect down in grade, never looking at home on this tight track and only his class got him so close to the winner, the latter a confirmed specialist round here that had a better draw; mid-field, ridden home turn, headway early in straight, stuck to task.

A fair turnout for this listed prize, even with a couple late withdrawals, though it strikes as form which wouldn't hold up away from Chester, the bang in-form winner producing a career best but very much a course specialist and seen to optimum advantage from the front.

HILLBILLY BOY (IRE) came here in fine form and proved better than ever as he took the step up in grade/drop back in trip in his stride, completing a course hat-trick in his usual front-running style; made all, went with zest, shaken up approaching straight, tackled soon after, dug deep under pressure; thoroughly likeable and straightforward so will continue to give a good , though will do well to confirm this form with a few in behind on a more conventional track when there's less in his favour.

EASTERN IMPACT (IRE) who won this last year, again come off the back of a good effort in the July Cup, but proved a let-down this time; in touch, ridden approaching 2f out, every chance final 1f, kept on.
