is improving in leaps and bounds and, having been expected to relish the step up in trip, justified in facile style, the amateur handicap on the opening night of the Galway Festival still very much an obvious next port of call; in touch, chased leaders end of back straight, led home turn, went clear over 2f out, eased final 50 yds; sure to get hit hard for this but one to keep on right side.

A strongly-run contest turned into a rout by a well-backed favourite tackling this trip for the first time.

SAMUI is improving in leaps and bounds and, having been expected to relish the step up in trip, justified in facile style, the amateur handicap on the opening night of the Galway Festival still very much an obvious next port of call; in touch, chased leaders end of back straight, led home turn, went clear over 2f out, eased final 50 yds; sure to get hit hard for this but one to keep on right side.

NIKHI shaped as if retaining ability on first outing since leaving Peter Bowen after 14 months off; raced off the pace, steady headway around 4f out, ran on, merely ed beaten horses.

ALMUHIT (IRE) back in headgear, fared better dropped in grade; steadied at the start, rapid progress after 2f, disputed lead around halfway, ridden 4f out, weakened straight.

LONGCLAW (USA) again ran below form; led, ed halfway, lost place over 4f out.

KINCADE (IRE) failed to come on for recent run; always behind.

CHIRICAHUA (IRE) showed nothing after 15 months off; dropped out, never on .
