followed up from last time under a penalty after just 7 days off despite looking far from the finished article, his jumping needing polish; mid-field, not fluent third, 4 out, smooth headway out wide entering straight, upsides approaching 2 out, quickened clear run-in, hung right, won readily; open to further improvement.

showed improved form on handicap debut despite still looking raw, wandering into a couple of flights, notably before 2 out, which hampered his own chance somewhat, but this was his seventh start over hurdles and he may just not be straightforward; made running, wandered before fourth, not fluent 3 out, ed when hung right soon after, bumped approaching 2 out, not quicken after last, well positioned.

was over whatever ailed her last time and got back on track after 3 months off despite not having the ideal trip/position; raced off the pace, outpaced home turn, headway before 3 out, upsides when hung left soon after, bumped approaching 2 out, kept on; looks on a fair mark and would be interesting if found a race against mares.

A steadily-run handicap that got messy in the straight, but there can be little doubt that the winner was the best horse at the weights, chased home by a couple of similarly unexposed types, giving some hope for the form for all it wasn't a deep 0-130 on paper.
