The inaugural edition of this listed race went the way of the subsequent Lowther winner and this year's renewal may well have thrown up another destined to make her mark at that sort of level, Ladies Church producing an impressive turn of foot to see off another promising sort; the favourite, Sophie's Star, raced alone up the middle of the track but it didn't make any difference to her finishing position.

LADIES CHURCH is most progressive, following up her recent maiden win with more in hand than the winning margin would imply; mid-division, quickened to lead over 1f out, went clear, hands and heels ride; type to go on improving and will be of plenty of interest wherever she turns up next.
