back over fences, arrived with a fitness edge over most of his rivals and bounced back to his very best, impressing on all fronts; made all, jumped superbly, travelled smoothly, shaken up between last 2, asserted from last, won readily; effective up to 21f, he looks ready for another crack at the top-level this season.

back down markedly in trip, emerged with plenty of credit after 6 months off despite the drop back to 2m not really playing to his strengths; prominent, outpaced between 3 out and 2 out, kept on again approaching last, no impression on winner; he's entitled to step up on this next time (will benefit from a return to 2½m).

back down in trip, shaped better than the bare result suggests after 6 months off, a combination of the lack of a recent run and trying to match strides with the winner early in the straight taking its toll late on; in touch, took closer order home turn, ridden from 3 out, no extra approaching last.

A good renewal of this Grade 2 affair, featuring 3 of last season’s leading novice chasers, though in the end none of them could lay a glove on 2018 winner Ballyoisin, who solidified his position as one of Ireland’s leading 2m chasers with a comfortable all-the-way success.

BALLYOISIN (IRE) back over fences, arrived with a fitness edge over most of his rivals and bounced back to his very best, impressing on all fronts; made all, jumped superbly, travelled smoothly, shaken up between last 2, asserted from last, won readily; effective up to 21f, he looks ready for another crack at the top-level this season.
