SEAN (GER) went a long way as expected to reaping the benefits of the return to this sort of trip, denied a close second by traffic problems just as winner was avoiding them, another very useful handicap effort on the book even so from such a lofty mark; held up, headway when denied a run from 2f out, got gap 1f out, kept on well inside final 1f, finished with running left.

TEUMESSIAS FOX (IRE) got back on track following a series of races that hadn't gone his way, ultimately shaping as if summed up by his mark, on turf at least (win this year a decisive one on all-weather); tracked pace, every chance from 2f out, not quicken late on.

KILLYBEGS WARRIOR (IRE) extended his long losing run but not for want of trying; made running, tackled over 2f out, headed when edged left entering final 1f, carried left again final 100 yds, no extra.
