well backed after 10 weeks off, had looked one to follow when winning last time and was beginning to get going when squeezed against inside rail over 1f out and chance immediately ended, more than likely to have been bang there in the finish; mid-field, ridden 2f out, keeping on when no room 1f out, not recover, not knocked about; remains with potential and is one to keep in mind.

A useful handicap with some solid sorts in and around the frame so the form should work out, even allowing for the fact the unexposed favourite, who looked sure to be involved in the finish, had his chance ended when running out of room against the rail; the pace was sound and the winner came from last.

WINTERLUDE (IRE) whose stable is going well, came out on top back down in trip after 9 days off, almost matching the pick of his form for Godolphin a couple of years ago and looking up to proving competitive from higher marks; held up, travelled well, headway over 1f out, stayed on to lead final 1f, ridden out; will continue to give good .

WHISPERING WARRIOR (IRE) is exposed but is only 1 lb above last winning mark and ran creditably for yard that continue to thrive; mid-field, headway over 1f out, kept on; should remain competitive.

ANSAAB 's yard isn't going as well as can often be the case but he again ran well, consistency is hard to knock; prominent, led 1f out, headed inside final 1f, no extra; should remain competitive.

BROCKLEBANK (IRE) ran creditably after 5 weeks off, proving strong at the finish, as is his style when in form, but he's never won from a mark this high; held up, headway over 1f out, stayed on, nearest at the finish.

MASTERPAVER stepped up on reappearance run, finishing closer than looked likely turning for home, this trip perhaps on the sharp side for him nowadays; raced wide, held up, outpaced over 3f out, ran on late; will be suited by a return to 11f+.

ALEATOR (USA) wasn't disgraced but didn't have such an easy time of things up front in this more competitive race; led, headed 1f out, weakened.

FREUD (FR) found run of good form coming to a halt after just 6 days off, not coping with the leap in grade; prominent, weakened 1f out.

FRANKLIN D (USA) well backed after 10 weeks off, had looked one to follow when winning last time and was beginning to get going when squeezed against inside rail over 1f out and chance immediately ended, more than likely to have been bang there in the finish; mid-field, ridden 2f out, keeping on when no room 1f out, not recover, not knocked about; remains with potential and is one to keep in mind.

STARLIT CANTATA again ran poorly; prominent, weakening when hampered final 1f.
