Not all that competitive a minor event, the quirky winner getting a dream run up the inner with a couple of his rivals getting in each others' way, though he still came from off the pace in a steadily-run affair to score readily, posting a performance right up with his very best.

BATTALION (IRE) without the headgear this time, proved at least as good as ever as he made a winning start for new connections (left William Haggas), getting the perfect run but still deserving of credit for overcoming a less-than-ideal position; slowly into stride, raced off the pace, travelled fluently, good headway on inner home turn, led over 1f out, quickened clear, won readily; will remain of interest on this surface.

MASTER THE WORLD (IRE) shaped as if still in good form, not seen to best effect; dwelt, raced off the pace, travelled better than most, not clear run home turn, headway approaching final 1f, ran on but damage had already been done; he'll remain of interest at a similar level.

SOMETHINGTHRILLING back up in trip, had something to find at this level, but was backed at long odds and ran as well as was entitled to, well positioned and getting a better run through than some; tracked pace, every chance entering straight, chased leader soon after, one paced; she's a likeable sort that should continue to give a good , so long as her mark isn't adversely affected by this.

MANSON who attracted , had a bit to find at this level but shaped as if still in good form, not seen to best effect; in touch, took keen hold, effort when hampered early in straight, short of room again 1f out, not persevered with once held; he's worth persevering with on this surface, likely to be of interest back in a handicap.

PINZOLO back on all-weather, proved to be a disappointment, though a steadily-run race at this shorter trip almost certainly didn't play to his strengths; prominent, ridden over 2f out, lost place early in straight, soon beaten.

READY (IRE) on first outing since leaving Ivan Furtado, was out of depth; dictated, headed over 1f out, weakened.

BANCNUANAHEIREANN (IRE) was easy to back after 10 weeks off and the return to all-weather failed to spark a revival, likely to have been beaten further in a more truly-run affair; raced wide, in touch, pushed along over 3f out, lost place entering straight, weakened; something to prove at present.
