A very valuable 2-y-o prize understandably attracted a big field, though Heavens Gate was still an odds-on favourite judged on her exploits in pattern company and obliged in fairly straightforward fashion, an improver and a last-time-out winner filling the places; they split into 2 groups which were nearly equally matched and the top 10 was filled with 5 from each, Midnight Strike best of the near-side group in fourth but it seemed like no biases were at play, a couple who were caught on the far wing worth excusing, however.

WISE MEN SAY (IRE) should stay this far but is best excused this run, ending up on the outer flank and well away from where this unfolded; slowly into stride, raced far side, mid-field, pushed along 3f out, never dangerous; remains with potential.
