A bit of a messy race as things turned out, with the early pace on the steady side, a couple caught out wide and others meeting trouble in the straight, though it was still a good-quality handicap by fillies standards - with a healthy 3-y-o contingent - and should throw up a winner or 2 near to hand.

STEPPING OUT (IRE) continues to thrive and followed up from last time, ittedly seen to better effect than a couple of her rivals, though best to focus on how easily she got to the front, looking to have a good bit more in the tank had she been required to show it; close up, travelled fluently, led approaching final 1f, ridden out; should make a bold bid to complete the hat-trick, with more improvement to come.

LADY HORATIA is on a handy mark and did well under the circumstances after a slow start left her on the back foot; dwelt, held up, headway under pressure entering final 1f, finished well, nearest at the finish, not ideally placed; there'll be weaker races for her and it's unlikely she'll be far away next time.

MISPLACED FORTUNE hasn't won for ages but is on her lowest mark for more than 2 years as a result and was unlucky not to finish closer returned to a track where she almost always runs well; mid-division, ridden when badly hampered over 1f out, headway inside final 1f, finished well; it's hard for her up against improving 3-y-s, but can't be written off.

TUMBLEWIND returned to form without finishing off quite so well as some, a stiff 6f plenty enough of a test for her; mid-division, in touch 2f out, no extra final 50 yds.

HEROIQUE (IRE) ran respectably but had no excuses, just not well enough treated, especially for a useful handicap like this; led until over 1f out, no extra.

TIGHT FIT shaped as if back in form, better than the bare result as well; worst of draw, raced wide, held up, headway out wide over 1f out, effort flattened out, not well placed; she's on a good mark judged on reappearance form, also unexposed at 6f, and is going to have a better chance next time than bare facts of last 2 runs suggest.

AUGUSTA ADA was too free to see things out fully but shaped as if still in good form and leaves the impression there's an improved effort in her under the right circumstances, travelling through this race better than any bar the winner; close up, took strong hold, going well when not clear run over 1f out, shaken up entering final 1f, no extra.

ALUTIQ (IRE) back down in trip, fared no better than last time; mid-division, ridden over 2f out, weakened final 1f.

ISHIAMBER had winning run ended, though best not judged on this run, poorly placed throughout; dwelt, raced very wide in mid-field, ridden over 2f out, hampered approaching final 1f, weakened, eased off.
